From Robert Vineyard of Denver, Colorado on 3/27/2017.
The road less traveled can often lead to unexpected equipment tests. This is the situation I found myself in when with just my regular clothes and a Lost Parka and a woobie. Several days outside of Denver sleeping beneath a scrubby pine. Multiple nights the temperature dropped to around 35 degrees and I was warm and cozy. Outside of one miserable night long rain shower the entire time I was comfortable. The Parka is like a warm force field, the front pocket is amazing. The material sheds dirt and pine needles easily. I am a true believer in Kifaru. I dreamed of buying Kifaru gear for many years and when I did it saved my life. Thank you all.
Warmest "puffy" ever!!!
From Chad Ingersoll of OMAHA, Nebraska on 2/6/2017.
This puffy is hands down the warmest jacket I have ever owned. Very comfortable and light weight. It would get 5 stars but the material used for the main coat could be a little more stout. This isn't the puffy you plan to stuff down to the size of grapefruit like the First Lite puffy. However.....if you know you are going to be in very cold conditions....you should pack this....no exceptions. That being said...because it is already a little heavier...I think some stouter material for the main body could be used. You have to be careful as with any light weight puffy as one little snag...on ANYTHING remotely "pointy"....and you will be reaching for the tenacious tape. Love this parka though. I find myself reaching for it every day in the winter.
From Adam Brinker of Rhodes, Iowa on 2/6/2017.
I've only used the parka this winter, but it is very warm and windproof. This thing is built for abuse as well. I used it when riding an open-cab SxS and it was amazing. As others have mentioned, it is a little loud when you move- both the upper material and Cordura. There are always trade-offs.I'm 5'9" and 170lbs. The large fits great once on, but it seems a little tight pulling it over. I'd definitely recommend it.
Lost Park Parka
From Ryan Miller of Loveland, Colorado on 12/25/2016.
This jacket is incredible. It's exactly what I was looking for. I'm 5'7" 150lbs and get cold easily. I went with a medium and the size is perfect with or without several layers. The jacket is incredibly warm and comfortable to hunt in and actually quieter than I thought it would be.
Just get one
From Anonymous of Eagle River, Alaska on 12/8/2016.
I have lots of Kifaru gear and the only thing I would rate higher than this jacket is my Sawtooth. Went to ND for geese and pheasant this week and it is the perfect jacket for the wind and cold. Moves easy and packs small when you get a little sweaty. I would say however I was considering the large based on the videos and some reviews but I bought the xl and am glad because it fits perfect for how I dress. 6'2 195lb. Also agree the cordura is nice lets you crawl under a fence or up a cutbank without worrying too much. If Kifaru wants to make it perfect for a bird hunter I suggest 3 shell loops on each sleeve and cordura shoulder patches kind of like the old commando sweaters. Thanks for another great item.
BEST PUFFY YET
From Jarrod Brown of Harahan, Louisiana on 11/17/2016.
Just got back from a week long white-tail hunt and cannot say enough good things about the Lost Park Parka. It is incredibly warm, allowing me to spot and stalk with a simple light weight merino top on under neath in 30 degree temps. The best feature of the Lost Park Parka, in my opinion, is the cordura sleeve and belly liner. I had no second thought to high crawling or slamming down to get my rifle into position quickly. THANK YOU KIFARU
From Anonymous of St george, Utah on 10/28/2016.
I am a real baby when it comes to cold. Took this bad boy out elk hunting this year at some pretty high Rocky Mountain elevation. The second wind kicked up or we started glassing, I would throw this baby on and was instantly warm. Smashed down super small in my pack, light, comfortable, so so warm. Love this parka
From Anonymous of Rochester, Minnesota on 10/14/2016.
I highly recommend this jacket, I'm still amazed at how warm it is. Very comfy and yet durable. Love the half zip. Buy one
Great for Alaska hunting!
From Paul John of North Pole, Alaska on 9/23/2016.
Wonderful product, worked great here in Alaska for moose hunting. Very warm yet very light and moves with you.
From Anonymous of Bakersfield, California on 7/24/2016.
I bought this parka for the upcoming hunting season but I have just got back from a 7 day Mt. Whitney hike and used it at night when the temperature dropped, this parka is very light weight and very well made! Thanks kifaru for another great product.
From Anonymous of Fairfax, Virginia on 4/12/2016.
I hate the cold but love the outdoors. I can honesty say this is one of the best things I've purchased. I shoot a lot of matches throughout the year and I've been rocking this parka just about every match this past winter. Keeps me warm without having to layer much in crappy conditions without feeling restricted in unconventional shooting positions. The main perk I like Kifaru's parka over others is the cordura on the sleeves and front, it's been taking the abuse and holding up strong. I've honesty never wrote a review for anything until now because of how pleased I am with this parka.
From Adam of Baltimore, Maryland on 4/3/2016.
Awesome parka! Very warm with just a tee shirt underneath in weather in the 30's-40's. I'm 5'10, 205 lbs. and an XL is a relaxed fit on me. Highly recommend spending the money on this parka! Thanks Kifaru =-)
From r carter of castle dale, Utah on 3/20/2016.
the weather has turned off warm but horn hunting season is here and will get to put the parka to the test, what little I have used the parka I love it!!
From Emilio Perez of Haines, Alaska on 3/2/2016.
The best jacket I have ever owned. In zero degree weather, the cold is not an issue. Very light weight and durable. Do not leave home without it.
From Adam of Baltimore, Maryland on 2/23/2016.
Great quality as expected from Kifaru! I'm 5'11" 205 lbs and prefer looser fitting clothing. The XL I ordered fits perfectly and leaves just the right amount of room for layering underneath. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite outer layers to wear. Thanks again Kifaru!
Lost Park Parka
From Jon of Nashville, Tennessee on 2/4/2016.
5 Stars on this Parka. As with all things Kifaru the quality is excellent. I wore this with only a long sleeve T-Shirt underneath on a two day ATV ride in the mountains of east Tennessee when the temps dropped to the mid 20s and was warm. Sizing - I'm 6'2 235 and purchased the XL. Size was perfect for me.
From Daniel Breen of Kearny, New Jersey on 1/30/2016.
This jacket is fantastic. I wanted to get something lite weight. Made well and keep me warm. Well I found it. It might be very well the best jacket I have. And I have a lot. Wool, fleece etc. Kept me nice and warm this winter bow season. And with the three feet of snow we just had! It's like wearing one of their sleeping bags. If your thinking of getting one do it. Great stuff. Thanks. Dan.
From Anonymous of Spring Lake, North Carolina on 1/23/2016.
My girlfriend got me this coat for Christmas! The medium fit perfectly. It is lightweight and keeps you warm in 20
Very Versitile Jacket
From Anonymous of Erie, Pennsylvania on 1/9/2016.
After staying completely dry while sleeping in the rain with my Kifaru woobie, I knew I had to purchase the Lost Park Parka, which is made out of the same material. I was hoping for a versatile jacket, and I wasn't disappointed. The jacket is very lightweight, and compresses into a large 3 string stuff sack nicely. Warmth is great, and the front zipper allows you to regulate temperature as needed. I'm a big fan of the zip off hood. Most days I don't like the hood, but its greatly appreciated in rougher weather. When walking into the wind, the inside collar prevents wind from being funneled inside the jacket by the hood, keeping your core warm. The RhinoSkin material is awesome. Blocks wind very well and although the jacket isn't advertised as waterproof, I haven't been able to get it to leak. The first major storm I was in I thought the front pouch was leaking, but it was actually just filling up from all the water running off of my arms. The only downside is that it does seem to cling to wet skin.Quietness is better than expected. The Cordura on the arms is loud when it rubs against the front pocket, but when I add my orange vest I expect it to be perfectly quiet for rifle deer. All in all, highly recommend this awesome jacket.
From Dan of Columbia Falls, Montana on 12/20/2015.
Kifaru gear rarely disappoints and the Lost Park Parka is a welcome addition. The fit and quality are great - I really like the removable hood option. American made is tops on my list. Whether mule deer hunting in eastern Montana or chasing elk & whitetails in the northwest, the Lost Park Parka will be part of my daily gear.
From JONATHAN WRAY of Haines, Alaska on 12/8/2015.
My wife bought me this jacket as a gift before moving up to Alaska. Best jacket I've ever owned.
From Anonymous of Hughesville, Pennsylvania on 11/29/2015.
I took this jacket on a whitetail hunt in Southern Illinois in mid November. The jacket kept me warm when the temperature dropped. Sitting in a tree stand for 12 hours was only bearable because I was warm and comfortable. The material was quiet and allowed me to move even when deer were right under me. The only issue that I saw was the stitching started to pull out where the pocket and zipper connect. Not a major issue, but otherwise I was very pleased with the warmth and the ease of packing down in a bag. I recommend this jacket to any hunter looking for a great all late season jacket.
The ONLY parka you need
From JW11b of Flagstaff, Arizona on 11/23/2015.
Incredible parka here from Kifaru. The construction and quality is top notch. Good zippers and drawstrings as well as a good comfortable removable hood. Love the durable cordura in all the right places. Man that stuff feels bullet proof! Packs up very small to shove in a day pack to pull out when needed. I'm not a huge dude so I utilized the sizing video and went with a MED. and am not disappointed. I wanted one good cold weather jacket that I hopefully wont need to replace anytime soon and so far I feel I've already gotten my moneys worth. Definitely a fan for life and am going to be getting a Doobie pretty soon here as well. Thanks a ton Kifaru.
From Chip Sparrow of Weslaco, Texas on 11/13/2015.
I haven't even seen the product yet, although I tried one on at your headquarters back in the summer. Living in Texas, I had it shipped to my son's house in Morrison, COL. I will pick it up soon on my way to mule deer hunting in Montana late this month. Surely to get much wear from it there!
Great Coat, Keeps the wife warm
From Anonymous of Moses Lake, Washington on 11/9/2015.
Great coat keeps the wife warm on hunts!
A must have
From Justin of Post Falls, Idaho on 11/6/2015.
This is a must have for the back country hunter as part of their regular kit. Just like the rest of Kifaru's gear this is built "bomb proof". You will not be disappointed.
From Brian Krupp of Evanston, Wyoming on 10/31/2015.
Super comfortable and warm! I have had two of the older packlock models from Kifaru and I like this coat much better. I bought a large and it fits well with enough room for layering underneath. I am 5'3" 170 pounds, athletic build. It is well worth the money in my opinion.
From HUD of The place, Virginia on 10/30/2015.
Exceptionally made parka. Warm and pack-able. It is also nice to know its made in the USA and not Vietnam or china. All i'd like to see in the way of changes or possibly optional addons or mods would be some extra pockets. Perhaps a shoulder pocket w/velcro for patches and maybe an inside pocket. Also i'd feel a bit better if there was a zipper on the hand warmer pockets, it would worry me a bit to carry my gloves or something else in there but these are little suggestions. otherwise the parka is incredible. No regrets.
A MUST HAVE!!!
From Jason Taylor of Redmond, Oregon on 10/28/2015.
Very tough and warm jacket. I was able to test this piece in Colorado for an elk hunt and during sitting and glassing times it was great to bust out and stay warm. Great for wearing around camp as well. Compresses easily to not take up much room in your pack.
From Gardner / WSP of Kinsgton, Washington on 10/19/2015.
Followed the sizing U-tube video based on similar sized person. The jacket was too tight and would have needed to go up a size to allow for additional layering. If you have an "athletic" build I would always recommend sizing up. As far as the quality of the garment, excellent piece of equipment, well made.
Amazing Insulating Layer
From Andres of Seattle, Washington on 10/8/2015.
I bought this for the current season and have spent 7 days in and out of it since then. Our first night hunting in the alpine this year we woke up to snow. I get cold easy and that morning I was a comfy as could be. I'd buy one for my wife if they came in small enough sizes. This jacket is perfect.
Buy this now!
From Marc of Louisville, Kentucky on 9/28/2015.
This parka is exactly what I wanted it to be. Haven't used it yet but the build and quality is exactly what you'd expect. I have the same build as the model used in the photo, as per the sizing video, and it fits as expected.
From Ronnie Brinn of Eagle River, Alaska on 9/5/2015.
I wore this parka on the top of Chicken Ridge, Alaska in sustained 30 mph winds at 20 degrees and this thing kept me warm. With the right base layers under it, it can't be beat. Kifaru makes the best gear out there. My Sitka puffy can't compare.
From Jared Grams of Hoonah, Alaska on 8/1/2015.
Awesome concept very pack able!!! Love Kifaru products.
Best Puffy on the Market!
From Craig Van Arsdale of Concord, California on 7/18/2015.
My new favorite puffy by far!! I recently climbed Mt. Shasta here in CA and was incredibly impressed the whole trip by this puffy. The day we summited was not the best conditions with a 0 degree windchill and 40-50 mph gusting winds at the summit I couldn't believe how well it shed the wind and kept me warm with only a merino baselayer on underneath! I even hung out on the summit for a good 15-20 min taking pictures and still didn't get cold. This is one of my favorite gear upgrades this year!
From J B of LA HABRA, California on 7/6/2015.
Great product - warmer than the pack lock series (it seems)Id like to see the front pocket as an option and the older Green as an option also - I've heard the same from other guys that have considered buying.Very tough - very warm - packs down pretty small.I was size medium in Packlock but I'm a large in the Lost Park.great item - i'd love to see the front pocket there again or at least the option - and the Green color
From Jerry of Perth, Australia on 7/5/2015.
What a great time, it may not get too cold here but it is great for getting out camping..the dragonskin is a great material.
I love it!!!
From Anonymous of COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado on 6/21/2015.
So, I have a Wool shirtjack that is similar to this and after a few years it is needing more love with a needle than I am willing to invest. I saw this and wanted to see if it could be a viable lightweight replacement... Long story short, I love it, can't think of anything that could be improved and the fit was right on and it feels great against the skin... It's definitely a keeper! The only problem is I now want to replace the current sleep system with a slickbag!!! #broke ;-)
From Anonymous of oregon, Oregon on 6/7/2015.
Outstanding, 1000 D certainly is not over kill. can't avoid elbow grease application sometimes, nice to know it will last.
From john of lewisburg, Pennsylvania on 6/6/2015.
Awesome. Got it one size bigger then I normally (XL vs L) and the fit is perfect to layer under it. This parka is really warm and compresses down nicely. Another great product from Kifaru.
From Chris Balfour of Trail, British Columbia on 6/5/2015.
Bought this for a spring grizzly hunt up here in BC. It exceeded all expectations , before I purchased it I watched the sizing video all I can say is spot on guys keep up the great product development
Outstanding pice of kit !
From Anonymous of Edmond, Oklahoma on 6/5/2015.
Kifaru has knocked insulation layers (shell) out of the park with this product. Extremely satisfied with this purchase. I primarily purchased this to wear while doing chores around the ranch in the winter time. Super durable and great fit with the large. I normally buy a size larger when tall's aren't an option however the sleeve and torso length are great with mine. (I'm 6'1.5" tall 196-200). Extremely warm and highly water resistant. (Wore it a lot this spring as a rain coat). My only minor complaint is I wish there were zippers or Velcro to help keep things in the "roo" pocket. I think I've found my new late season whitetail and predator hunting coat as well as a superior work coat.
Excellent, functional parka.
From Gregg Bafundo of Tonasket, Washington on 5/28/2015.
Once again Kifaru has developed a must have piece for those extended mountain rambles. No bells no whistles, all function. It's warm, packable and fits very well. I'm 6'4" 190 and the large is perfect. If you're contemplating a purchase, do it. The only change I would suggest is for Kifaru to slightly lighten up on the Cordura fabric. It's a bit overkill. Sticking to their mantra of building equipment to allow for "mountain living" they've succeeded again. I give it 4 3/4 stars! Semper Fi.
Excited to use this winter
From Jason S. of Glen Allen , Virginia on 4/29/2015.
Received my parka yesterday and very impressed with weight and design. Reinforced panels on sleeves and pocket work well. I am 6’2”/185 and the Large fits perfectly with plenty of room for layering while still providing flexibility of movement.
2/10/2017 – From a water resistance point of view would you still recommend a rain shell be worn over the top when it's raining?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Since it uses synthetic insulation, the jacket will still retain heat when wet. It also has a DWR coating. That being said, I would still wear a rain shell for comfort's sake.
12/8/2016 – What size compression sack is recommended?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: A large three string compression sack works best for the parkas. Let us know if you have any other questions!
11/11/2016 – Is the Lost Parka wind resistant or wind proof? Thanks.
Response From Kifaru Intl.: I wouldn't go as far as to say windproof since there is not a layer sewn in specifically designed for that purpose. That being said, between the tougher than normal parka outer material and the Apex insulation I have never had issues with wind getting through. I've used this on some pretty cold outings in Colorado and been too warm if anything. Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions!
7/8/2016 – I'm 6'5" and 220lbs. Should I go with an XL and will I not be too constrained if I want to wear layers?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Stewart,Since you are a bigger guy, I suggest going with a 2xl.
6/24/2016 – hiwhich Apex 0z insolation the parka is made of?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Steve,The Lost Park Parka uses 3.6oz of Apex insulation per square yard.
4/15/2016 – Hi, I'm 5'11" and 165 would the medium fit or the large? Thanks
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Mike,For your size I would suggest going with a size large parka.
2/29/2016 – I am 5'11" about 200 lbs, I was wondering what size to get if this was going to be part of my layering system, I am thinking . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Matt,A large will work well for your size. If it isn't the fit you are looking for, we offer a 30 day return/exchange policy. We should have more sizes available for order in the next week or two.
1/19/2016 – I am 174cm tall and 65kg,what size fit?Thanks!
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Hong,For your size, the medium sized Lost Park Parka will work best!
