the ruck
From Matt East of Edmonton, Alberta on .
This pack is amazingly versatile and is ideal for the mountain hunter. The external pocket works excellent for quick access items like a spotting scope or puffy jacket. Accessories such as the guide lid, locking compression straps, and side pockets are outstanding additions to it as well.
Love this bag
From Reed Carlson of Manchester, Michigan on .
I bought this bag on a 26in hunting frame for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro last summer,(everyone complained about their pack except me) it worked great then and i'm still using it all the time Hiking, camping, hauling bait, fishing , hunting. Seriously I have been beating up on this thing and it looks brand new. The zippers are tough and the stitching is too! I picked this bag because of the front zipper, its convenient as hell not having to go digging through all your stuff to get a layer out. You won't regret buying this!
World-class

This pack is everything I expected. Took it on a backcountry mule deer and elk hunt. Loaded with a boned out muley, used a couple of extra compression straps and the load was stable as could be. I like the front load feature, don't have to lift the lid to access the main bag.
Awesome Versatility
From Matt Snyder of Portland, Oregon on .
I've used this pack for about a year now and it is by far the most versatile pack I have ever used. I love the panel loader for photography with an ICU insert from F-stop and quickly accessing gear in my pack. I have used this for everything from day hikes to 7 day backpacking trips as well as packing out an entire elk and mule deer solo this year. With a couple of side pockets, belt pouches and a guide lid, this thing can easily carry everything I need for a 7 to 10 day hunt. Once base camp is set up, I can remove a couple pockets, tighten the straps and it works great for day hunts.
Great bag!
From Sam of Southern Pines, North Carolina on .
Excellent bag. I've had the Mountain Warrior for three weeks now, have put a hundred miles on it; and love it! It has just enough pockets and pouches to hold gear but not enough to be heavy or awkward. The 500d material is ideal because it cut the weight from my first Navigator by probably half. I used the 26" frame since I'm really tall and it fits the bag perfectly. My only slight gripe is that I was not aware that the tactical frame only comes in tan when I ordered it. That makes my bag look a little weird with coyote grey everywhere but on the frame which is tan. When the bag is on my back I forget all about how it looks however. Another big plus is the new waistbelt system. Kifaru did a great job making it simple to adjust and comfortable. Can't go wrong with this bag. Get the frame that fits your height.
MW - Highly Recommended

I've had a lot of packs over the years- including from Kifaru. The Mountain Warrior on the Hunting Duplex is to date my favorite "do-pretty-much-everything" pack. Big enough to do longer excursions, not so big/bulky that it is overkill for lighter outings. I love the panel and top-loading access, as well as the built-in organization (front pocket; internal organization; water bladder sleeve). Others prefer a more spartan setup, but I like the fully-featured build of the MW.
Best pack ever
From Anonymous of ARVADA, Colorado on .
Got this pack last year for elk hunting in Colorado and couldn't be happier. I ordered a guide lid, side pockets, and two belt pouches with it. With this kit, I can go just about anywhere for as long as I want. I've owned more than a few Packs for backpacking and this Kifaru pack is by far the toughest most comfortable pack I've seen. The waistbelt is the most comfortable I've seen. I got it with the duplex suspension what else can I say absolutely love this thing!!!! Thankyou Kifaru!!!
Outstanding

I use this for mountaineering rather than hunting, as most seem to do. This is perfect for trips with a long approach where a sled is not practical. I find that the extra weight compared to a mountaineering bag of similar size is about par however, the durability and versatility outshine just about everything I've come across.
I recommend the guide lid as well. Using this as a summit bag is super convenient for a quick run up and peak bagging.
Stay out as long as you like and go as far as you want with this piece of kit.
Best "Everything" Pack
From Blake Amon of Minot, North Dakota on .
This pack has it all! I was looking for a pack I could use on 5-7 day backpacking trips yet at the same time compress and be light and simple enough for a day pack. The mountain warrior met ALL of my needs. Tons of room and the layout is awesome. You could easily use it for more than 7 day trips. It isn't bulky and awkward with straps all over the place. Just simple. The zippers are excellent as well. The best pack I have ever owned!
Can't Go Wrong With This Pack!
From Brian Lund of Salem, Oregon on .
I just recently purchased this pack and the name speaks for itself. I managed to fit everything I need for a 5 to 8 day hunt in my Mountain Warrior, it offers plenty of room! Three elk decoys, tent, thermocell pad, sleeping bag, food for days, 2 Liter water bladder, 2 changes of camo clothes, game bags, numerous elk calls, solar panel charger and extra batteries, ect...The most roomy pack I've ever owned! Quickly detaches from my Duplex frame and can quickly be reattached in a matter of seconds. The Mountain Warrior is extremely durable, built tough as nails and I don't foresee myself ever having a single issue with the craftsmanship of the bag. These packs are built with pride, you will not find a better built bag other than Kifaru...a big thumbs up to Kifaru for putting out a extremely high-quality pack!

I absolutely love my Mountain Warrior pack. It is exactly what I was looking for. The built in pocket is going to work perfectly for my smaller quick access items. I cannot wait to get out on a mountain and put some meat in the pack.
Great Bag!!

This bag is a great size for hunting 3-5 days out. I like the side zip access. It is a simple easy access design. I bought the Fusion color and love it.
Mulit Functional Bag
From Chris Fredrickson of Price, Utah on .
I bought the TAC Warrior because I was looking for a bag that was large enough to take on extended trips yet small enough to use for short day trips. I was a little worried that it may be a little small but I think that the 4,800 ci description is understated. The bag has plenty of room and I am able to compress it down enough that it is a good day use bag. I also like having both the panel loading option and the top loading option. I am very pleased with this bag. I purchased the guide lid also and 2 lrg side pockets and I have plenty of room for an extended trip.
Moutain warrior

Decided to get my multicam pack in the 500D to keep the weight down a bit, because of prior Kifaru experience, and reasoning that if the Australian Mountain Pack will work for the SAS in 500D, it must be pretty strong. I think it's a winner.
Southeast Alaska
From Joel of Craig, Alaska on .
I've packed out around 8 bucks so far with this bag on day hunts. Didn't have it in time for alpine season. I have it on a duplex frame. I really like the Mountain Warrior. I feel I could use it for a 7 day hunt if I was careful with my gear and got a few add-ons. I look forward to using it next year on longer hunts. It cleans out well too in the bathtub.
Great versatile pack
From Gary G of Big Bear, California on .
This is the most comfortable pack I have owned (and I own 4 other Kifaru packs). I hunted deer this season with the pack in the fully compressed mode with only my camelbak and sometimes jacket in the main compartment. The rest of my gear went in the outside pouch and guide lid. This pack carried a lot like my Late Season which was previously my favorite pack. My 18 year old son now hunts out of the Late Season.
I can't recommend this pack enough if you are looking for a smaller pack to hunt out of camp with but one that is big enough to carry your camp in with you and your meat out.
MW 4800
From Eric Pilgrim of Park Rapids, Minnesota on .
I haven't used it to pack meat yet. Just walked around with weight in it. I really like the front zipper pocket that allows easy access into the main compartment. This is the main reason I chose this over the Highcamp. I also really like the pouch for a water bladder.
As expected!!
From Joe Frank of Concrete, Washington on .
I started as one of those worried customers, annoying Kifaru's excellent customer service with annoying questions. I was trying to decide between this pack and the Nomad. I was mainly nervous because I had never put my hands on the packs or the new hunting duplex, and was going to have to drop $800 to do it! I was thinking maybe all of these reviews I read on various sites were just guys who maybe didn't like their setup's, but felt they had to brag about them because of the big dollar they spent......I was wrong, these packs truly are what everyone says they are, right out of the box. I adjusted the load lifters, attached a belt pocket, guide lid, and water bottle holder, then went to work. Ended up going on a 7 day high hunt in the most remote part of Washington with a 75lb pack on the way in and came out with 95lbs 9+ miles. Unbelievably comfortable, with no problems. So many options, and it compressed down to the perfect day pack size with no extra straps. I've now been on several hikes and over nighters with it and can't find a complaint. The Warrior pack and hunting duplex fit my needs perfectly.... Which is hard to do. I'm convinced you can't go wrong with a Kifaru, and they have an option for any of your needs!
Great Pack
From Anonymous of Sandy, Oregon on .
Bag is laid out perfect for my needs. Great size for extended trips but packs down easily for a day pack.
Love at first load...
From Tony Trietch of Traverse City, Michigan on .
The guys and gals at Kifaru have done it again. This bag is darn near perfect for all my back country trips. I got the 500 weight material and it is bomb proof, can't imagine how tough the 1000 must be! Throw on a Guide lid and I have enough usable space for ten days.
All around ruck
From Micah -OTDefense.com of Baker, Oregon on .
Great all around ruck, can shrink this down to a small pack with a camelback and spotting scope in it for a quick trip, has some slop in it that way since it is a big ruck but not much. Open it all up and can fit a lot of stuff. Can put an M4 and and a few days worth of gear in it no problem The access panel is great, only thing I would have different is the center (top over strap) be attached about an inch lower so it fell out of the way of the zipper better. Overall if I I had to have just one ruck this is it.
very happy!
From CHRIS STONE of jackson, California on .
the pack and other gear I ordered are awesome! kifaru packs and gear is built like a pack should be. no complaints here!
Versatile
From KJ of Bend, Oregon on .
Super versatile bag. With some extra pockets and a big lid this thing is capable of 8-10 day hunts in the lower 48 (for what I bring). Couldn't be happier with the functionality of the panel load/front pocket configuration. Cinches down SMALL for day hunting with an extra couple straps (lash kit). This bag on the Duplex frame is the only pack I need for all my western big game hunting.
Awesome pack
From Luke J of Oldtown, Idaho on .
I had a very hard time trying to decide which pack to go with. I waffled back and forth between packs like the High Camp that is pretty Spartan (but modular and customizable) and the EMR II that has the kitchen sink worked in...but is on the larger side. When The Mountain Warrior was released, I didn't have to look too hard at it to know that it was the "one". Perfect size for multi-day trips but can be compressed way down and is light enough that you don't feel "over bagged" on day trips where you don't need to carry much gear. I really like how the pack is laid out and that you don't have to unpack everything from the top to access items that are lower down inside the pack. I added a couple of small belt pouches, a Grab-it II and several of the pull outs. I'm set for pretty much everything just shy of a double-digit day trip...and even so, you could always add on some of the large, external add-on pockets and be set. I could go on...but I'd end up writing a novel: I REALLY like this pack!
Amazing pack!
From Anonymous of Chandler, Arizona on .
Well made and extremely versatile. Didn't need something too big but also didn't want to limit myself to something too small. This fits the bill! Great when fully loaded but will also cinch down to a three day size without much effort. As usual with Kifaru it's top quality gear.
