Great pack!! I got this and strapped it to the 26" Duplex Frame. Can't beat this set up for comfort and versatility. Hands down the best pack I have used. Definitely worth the money!

ALL I CAN SAY IS BUY IT. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A PACK THAT WAS BIG ENOUGH AND HAD A FULL LENGTH ZIPPER FOR EASIER ACCESS. THIS PACK DOES IT ALL AND I WISH THIS WAS AVAILABLE WHEN I WAS IN THE MILITARY. CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PACK
From Joaquin Courtemanche of Shelter cove, California on 1/11/2017.
Great bag combining many features of other popular models without feeling overdone, everything is here, and yet nothing extra is in the way. If you're looking for a bag that can fill a lot of roles very well this is the one.
New extended trip/elk hunting pack
From Matt McNabb of Borger, Texas on 1/9/2017.
I bought this pack to replace a AMR that I used previously. I liked the size of the AMR but with bowhunting and strapping my bow to the back of the pack it limited access to the large back pockets of the AMR and it lacked the side pockets unless added. This pack fixed those issues that I had with the AMR and still provides a large main bag for the extended trip gear. I haven't had a chance to take the pack out yet and camp with it but loading it up with gear and using it around the house and for training hikes this pack has worked great and look forward to September with this pack on my back. I will also be running it with a guide lid and two large belt pouches if needed for extended trip for shorter trips I will use the belt pouches one on top and one on the middle bottom for holding a rifle if needed.
User Friendly & Easily Expandable
From Mike Nelson of A Mountain in..., Colorado on 1/7/2017.
This bag has exceled on two Colorado mountain snow shoe camping trips with the kids. While the Reckoning is smaller than my EMR II, 137L vs. 106L, using the "load" shelf & dry bag combo I can more than make up that difference. A-ron, notice I did not call it a meat shelf. When she got tired I took my kiddos 50L Osprey bag & just strapped it between the bag & frame and it worked great. The thing I like most about the Reckoning is how user friendly it is. When tromping around at elevations you end up adding & shedding layers frequently. The EMR II just seemed difficult to repack/unpack with those long straps. The Reckoning's three-way ability to compress different areas is a blessing. Also, you never realized how much you missed the handles until you have them.Added three Medium belt pouches. I used the middle pocket to hold snowshoe and used side belt pockets to hold tripod. Struggling a little with using the guide lid. Have ended up not using the guide lid and focusing on frequently used gear in the belt pouches attached to the bag.Got it in Ranger Green. Love the fact that Ranger green draws less attention when in civilian use.

The purchase of this pack was the culmination of a year+ long search for an ideal pack. Now that I have received the pack and taken it out on three trips of various lengths, I can say it was worth the wait. The pack exceeded all my expectations and I would highly recommended it to anyone looking for a pack that excels from 4 day plus backpack hunt (it could hold more, that was just the limit of time i had), to a functional day pack. The functional day pack claim by Kifaru was the one that I was skeptical about, however, it does condense down with relative ease. The compression, coupled with only using the side pockets and a long hunter lid, it turned in to a great pack for a day hunt. Shaun
Well thought out pack
From Anonymous of Gillett, Wisconsin on 12/28/2016.
I bought this pack in November and from the moment I opened the box I couldn't wait to get it on my back. This pack like everything else I've seen from Kifaru is top quality. So many great features on this pack, 3/4 length zipper, 2 large side pockets, 3 straps around the pack to help tighten the contents down or close off areas of the bag and plenty of area to attach external pockets. In my opinion this is the ultimate pack!! Made 100% in the USA!!!
From Stefan of Beaverton, Oregon on 12/24/2016.
When I first opened this pack I was blown away by the quality of material, zippers, and buckles. The next morning I took it out and ran through a workout with 80lbs in it. 4 stadiums at the high school followed by 4x 200yards sleds pushes and 80 yards of tire flips. Never had to adjust the pack, nor did it get sloppy. I am very impressed and the high dollar price is well worth the price. The reckoning is a very versatile bag its self. I love the two way zipper and the independent webbing. Keep it up kifaru.
2/12/2017 – When you state bag only, do you mean no standard shoulders straps, would this mean having to get the frame also?? The straps . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: The bags that come with straps are the x-ray, tarryall, 14'r, antero, e&e, and urban zippy. For the other bags you will need to purchase an external frame. Let us know if you have any other questions!
12/13/2016 – How waterproof is the bag?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: The 500d Cordura has a DWR coating on the backside of the material so it's pretty water resistant. That being said, I would use a pack rain cover if the forecast predicts several days of heavy rain.
11/20/2016 – When it states bag includes the guide lid kit is that the compression straps needed to attach the lid?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Yes it is. Let us know if there is anything else we can help with!
