carry any necessities you need fast access to, and attach easily in
any location on our packs via either dock and lock, Malice Clip, or
the packs compression straps. The large Side Pocket has an internal
hang loop for the addition of up to a 4 liter water reservoir, and
sport full length zippers with dual pulls for easy retrieval of
gear - even with one handed operation. These also work great as
spotting scope pockets and the large will hold up to a Zeiss 85
Diascope or Swarovski ATX 95mm.
1000d Side Pocket
Great add on
From Gavin DeMersseman of Rapid City, South Dakota on 1/13/2017.
Great to add to your pack for extra storage. And great on its own, I've added shoulder straps and been running mine as a haversack/possible pouch.
Awesome side pocket
From Nathan of Choteau, Montana on 12/29/2016.
Side pocket made by Kifaru International is made up of high quality material. I utilized this side pocket with my backcountry pack in the Bob Marshall Wilderness to carry my Kelly kettle it was a perfect fit. I like how I can attach it to the molle on my pack with no issues and it keeps it nice and tight to the pack. I have recommended this product and other products by Kifaru International to numerous friends.
From Anonymous of Post Falls, Idaho on 10/31/2016.
Like all of Kifaru's gear, very high quality and durable. This particular pouch was just too big to be useful in hanging off of my pack. If you're looking at this pocket, just realize it's really big!
From Anonymous of Wasilla, Alaska on 10/10/2016.
I recently picked up three large pockets, two small pockets, and a large belt pouch so I could convert my xing from A day pack to a five day pack for a recent caribou hunt. I love the versatility of all these pockets and how modular you can actually make a pack. I can literally configure my pack to whatever I'm doing for specific trip. You're not gonna find that with any other manufacturer. Kudos on how you plan it out, and thank you for one tough product. I've drug my Kifaru gear all over Alaska, from mountain trecks, To River runs, to four wheeler rides. This stuff stands up to the test of real outdoor adventure
From Anonymous of Fairbanks, Alaska on 9/26/2016.
Ordered two of the medium side pockets to supplement some space on my Mystery Ranch pack for a 16 day, hike-in dall sheep hunt. Very pleased with the addition to the pack as it opened up the entire main body For the bulky items and allowed easy access to all my smaller essentials and clothing layers when lined with a dry sack. My only complaint with these is that the PALs system is not very compatible with other packs due to the lack of MOLLE webbing in the center of the pocket. This made fitting very difficult to most of my packs with limited webbing areas. I combined utilizing the cross straps for compression and it also helped stabilize them, but when empty, they just slide around.
From Anonymous of Spokane, Washington on 7/1/2016.
Quality appears as you would expect at that price point and from KIFARU. Excellent. But gone are the initialed tags and customer service has taken a step backwards. Not rude just don't have time for us anymore. "Too busy". And that's too bad. Quick and curt
No Straps on the small ?
From Frank X of Bloomington, Minnesota on 5/10/2016.
Purchased some mediums , lined them with S2S Evac dry sacs these work great with the compression straps , stuff , roll, zip up and pull straps, awesome sauce. Then purchased some larges and smalls for the same applications, items showed up , great quality. no straps on the small , just malice clips . i called , they said they'd ship out some, didn't see em after a few weeks , called back was informed the smalls Don't come with straps to lock and dock :( that's my only issue , i kept small pouches because i'm a gear whore and they're quality made pouches. and they were really nice and a human answered the phone . I wish they would put a hydro bladder hanger in the mediums like they do the larges, but that i knew . i will add my own because i can sew and poke the shit out of my fingers :) challenge accepted .in short buy these , buy lots of these you can stuff shit in it and stuff dirty or wet shit behind it ( their mesh pull outs work great for this), compress them down and said shit will stay put , they're great you need these.
From Tom Richmond of beavercreek, Oregon on 4/6/2016.
fits great, well built, the large pocket is the way to go.
From Anonymous of New York, New York on 2/16/2016.
High quality piece of gear, exactly what I was looking for to make my marauder fit a bit more (I got 2 large side pockets). It fits a SealLine 5Liter dry bag very nicely, with room for a bit more.
Side Pocket Small
From Anonymous of Glendora, California on 2/15/2016.
Good quality pouch with two black plastic Malice clips for the Molle webbing in the back. Fairly light weight. Since the shape is more cylindrical than square it doesn't fit as much as a rectangular pouch of the same size. I like the top lip design as I'm sure this handles rain better. The Coyote Brown color matches my Camelbak Trizip and Tactical Taylor pouches.
large side pockets on 1st gen Zulu
From robert jarrell of cobb, Georgia on 2/1/2016.
Two large new model Side Pockets on my 1st gen Zulu have expanded its capacity and hence function tremendously. Along with an XTL Top Lid and E&E Pack I have been using for several years I have been able to increase and decrease the volume as needed. Lightweight ruck in the summer and medium volume ruck in the winter. As always Kifaru's quality of manufacture and design is first rate.
I got the large one
From Johnny C of Lake county, Illinois on 11/29/2015.
I would have purchased a larger 1 if they made it since I got the AMR. For what it is though it is designed well and fits the bag.
From Anonymous of Seattle, Washington on 11/17/2015.
I've attached this using tee harness to a Hill People Gear Umlindi and this pocket has effectively doubled my capacity. It turned my mostly 24 hour go bag into easily a three day!
From John Albright of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania on 11/16/2015.
I purchased the medium side pocket to attach to my DT2. I use this pocket to store my SuperTarp/Annex,Ground cloth and pegs. It attaches easily to the pack/frame and frees up some much needed room in the main bag of the pack. A great addition to my pack and it can be attached to any of my other Kifaru Bags.
From John Albright of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania on 11/2/2015.
I bought this to keep my supertarp/annex and pegs in while attached to my DT2. It lets me free up the inside of the bag that much more and weighs next to nothing and can be attached easily to my other packs as well.
From HUD of VA, Virginia on 10/22/2015.
Excellent add-on for any Kifaru pack, or even any molle capable pack. I added 2 of the large 1000d cordura side pockets to my Pointman, almost doubling the capacity. Must have if your back can carry all the extra weight they`ll hold! KIFARU IS THE BEST!
medium side pocket
From Tomasz Mrozek of Dublin, Ireland on 10/7/2015.
Hi allI just want to thank you Kifaru Team for great product. Perfect in all the way.BTW Ms Clare you can be proud of it. Many Thanks.Tom.
From Chris of Valleyford, Washington on 9/15/2015.
A great way to quickly add capacity to a ruck, but the spacing on PALS webbing needs to be re-done for proper attaching to the host ruck. The pocket needs webbing on the 1st, 2nd, (maybe third if short malice clips are to be used instead of the long version), 4th, and 5th rows. Currently there is webbing on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th (as seen in the pictures). This spacing matches the host ruck's spacing and doesn't allow the proper weave for a strong attachment. If Kifaru fixes this issue, I'd up my review rating to 5 Stars without a second thought. After using their gear both here and deployed, this is the first issue I have come across with how one of their products was designed. Kifaru, please fix this so I can order more pockets with out having to go to a third party to add the extra webbing rows!!!
large side pocket
From kevin howeth of bakersfield, California on 8/26/2015.
Like all Kifaru products, its bomb proof & does what I want it to do. My only complaint, is that wish Kifaru would offer at least one other way to secure it to the "dock & lock" loops, like the "slick clips" for example. But this one complaint certainly isn't a deal breaker.
From Anonymous of South Jordan, Utah on 7/19/2015.
Fits my Mt. Warrior perfectly. Deep and slim. Needed a little extra space and got it with two side pockets
Deep and Narrow
From Anonymous of Columbia, South Carolina on 7/4/2015.
I bought 2x MEDIUM size in 1000 denier. I'm using them as add-on pouches to the sides of my pointman pack. Great for adding an additional 1000 cu in to the pack. The top opening of the pockets is a little too narrow for a few items like a USGI poncho or skeeter net. But most modern products on the civilian market are smaller/light-weight that would fit fine into the opening. But just be advised, IF YOU'RE USING SURPLUS USGI GEAR, IT MAY BE A TIGHT FIT.
From Cedric Chausson of PARIS, France on 6/30/2015.
This pouch fills in an empty space in the pouch product landscape: that of large light pouches. The market has long concentrated on small mission specific pouches but neglected large pouches which can only truly allow molle packs to expand substantially the volume carried thus allowing them to be truly versatile.Great quality as always form Kifaru.
From Tony Trietch of Traverse City, Michigan on 6/29/2015.
The side pocket was perfect for my 80mm Swaro spotter!! Even has left over room for a extra puffy or layer to fit in there.
Biggest side pouches, tons of room, great looks
From Patrick Martin of Anaheim, California on 5/19/2015.
These large side pouches hold so much that I have to think of things to fill them up. I use them on my ZXR pack with Dock-&-Lock attachment. For the Jeep, I Dock-&-Lock them to my Molle seat covers. These give me so much room that I sometimes don't even need the pack so I attach them to each other & just carry them. Built to last right here in the USA.
Great pack expansion
From Patrick Martin of Anaheim, California on 5/19/2015.
This pouch holds way more than you think at first look. I Dock-&-Lock two of them to the sides of my Scout pack and they fit perfectly. When I need the contents on my ZXR pack I simply detach from my scout and Dock-&-Lock them to that pack. If I need it for a Jeep treck, I Dock-&-Lock them to my Molle Jeep seat covers. Awesome utility that will last for generations.
Great side pockets
From Andy Lacza of Punta Gorda, Florida on 2/18/2015.
These side pockets are attached to my Camelbak and I love them. It was difficult to attach, I was missing the pals in the middle but problem solved. It has a great capacity, almost doubled my backpack size.
From Anonymous of Richland, Washington on 2/16/2015.
Really like the new design. My only complaint is the half pals on the back. This made using the malice clips a little tricky with my Zulu. Would rate 5 stars if pals issue was fixed.
From straps of NorCal, California on 1/31/2015.
I got the 1000D Medium size.Jumped on these because I liked the shape, size (for large Omni, small Wraptech/Duplex packs) and design (unlined for weight).Daisy chain mounting is simple and efficient. K-Connector Conversion definitely recommended, especially if you're hauling stuff other than compatible clothingFour stars (woulda done 4.5) for no other reason than the "half" PALS mount; a full grid (especially on the upper half)would have been nice. But as stated above the mount system works well.In sum a great replacement for the Long Pocket, and I'll probably buy a pair of Larges for use on the side of my AMR...
2/15/2017 – Hi Team,Will the large side pockets fit to the Woodsman to each side of the pack?I'm interested in adding pockets to . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: I would go with the spotting scope pockets for the Woodsman. The three bar slider method of attaching pockets works a bit better for a single Pals square than malice clips. Let us know if you have any other questions!
6/22/2016 – Two questions:1.) Wasn't issued a Kifaru pack, but how well do these hook-up to other MOLLE platforms?2.) Are there . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi CJ,Our side pockets attach well to other molle platforms. You can attach them with the included malice clips or you can use paracord or zipties. There is no difference in design between 500d and 1000d
6/12/2016 – Do the small come with compression straps like the medium and large?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Peter,The small side pockets do not include compression straps.
6/1/2016 – I have a High Camp which has PALS along the sides at the bottom - much like a Timberline or AMR - and I can't figure out . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Simon,The malice clips you were sent with the side pocket should work. Another option is to use paracord and tie a square knot to attach the pockets.
5/18/2016 – can you use the medium side pocket on the spike camp?i have two small side pockets but they do not seem to fit very well . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Mark,Yes, a medium side pocket can be mounted to either side of the spike camp. The compression straps of the spike camp would run through the daisy chain of molle webbing on the front of the side pocket.
4/24/2016 – For the XRAY which MED or LARGE side pocket fits best? Appears the large is too tall?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Robert,The medium or size small side pockets work best on the X-Ray.
4/21/2016 – I'm just wondering if all these come with malice clips. I have never used the other system before. I also plan on buying . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Travis,Yes, our side pockets include malice clips to use as an attachment option.
1/30/2016 – How many PALS rows/columns are each of these pockets in size?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Bryson,Our size small side pocket is 5 rows by 3 columns. The size medium is 8 rows by 5 columns. The large is 9 rows by 6 columns.
