& Suspension:The Duplex Frame is completely modular, letting you
choose between pack or freighter.
From Jesse of Ashland, Oregon on 4/12/2017.
Coming from Infantry, I was used to the Army Alice and MOLLE II frames, and thought that was just how packs fit. I decided to take a shot with this. I owned a Marauder I purchased from Kifaru in 2004 and it lasted 10 years. This Frame is amazing, I used to get paranoid carrying heavy weight with previous shoulder and back injuries, but this has been so comfortable and I can travel longer distances with heavier loads. I will admit I had no idea how to "properly" adjust this, but after watching Kifaru videos and going back and forth to a mirror, it is now in the sweet spot. Highly recommend!
Good Frame, but you sent me a tan frame with a grey waistbelt?
From Sam of Southern Pines, North Carolina on 1/22/2017.
Great frame. It is incredibly comfortable and easy to adjust. My one gripe and the reason it lost a couple of stars is because it only comes in tan. I ordered a grey and yes the waistbelt is grey, but the frame itself it tan. So now I have a grey bag, grey waistbelt; and a tan mixed in. It looks absurd and Kifaru can do better than that. I spent almost 1000 dollars on this order including pouches and Mountain Warrior and frame, and I can't get a uniform color for the whole thing? Maybe I misread the website and order, but even looking at it again I don't see where it says that it only comes in tan. You can do better Kifaru, and if it wasn't for the color I'd be ecstatic for the frame!
Just buy it.

After getting in some good miles under this frame with the tahr pack, I can say it is completely different than any pack I've used before. This frame is so uniquely balanced and shaped that after 15+ years of being hunched over under heavy rucks straining my back and shoulders as the miles drag on, I am stunned with how this frame functions. It feels like most other packs until you cinch down the load lifter straps and the pack sucks into the contour of the spine, the weight balances and distributes, and this pack forces you to stand in a tall, upright, proper posture. It's amazing that the human body is designed to bear weight so effortlessly and all we needed was a better designed pack. Who knew. Two more quick points: the quality is impressive, and the customer service is exceptional. I ordered the pack with the guide lid and it showed up with no lid at all. I sent an email the night I received my order and before I woke up the next day I had a response saying they were packing up a guide lid and getting it on the way, no questions asked, no nonsense, just taking care of the customer. Got it two days later with some bonus Kifaru swag and all was right in the world. I'm beyond impressed, my Kifaru wish list has doubled since getting this pack, I'll be a customer for life.

I used the prior version of the Duplex as well as the Bikini frame. This frame is a definite improvement. I have the Tactical version with composite stays. It is more comfortable, lighter, and has more attachment points than my old duplex. I especially like the new tab loops perfectly positioned for attaching my Nomad pack without pulling against the seams.

I just got done with the first real test of this system. I have the frame with a cargo panel, duffel (that hooks into the frame), and a Nalgene pouch and a small utility pouch on the kidney pads. I picked up this system after doing some mountain work and realizing the difficulty of carrying an aid bag worthy of a true multisystem trauma patient and all the ammo, batteries, ropes, sustainable items, etc needed to work in unforgiving terrain. I just did 7 miles in desert mountains with this frame and a Crye avs plate carrier with all the fix'ns. The lumbar pad fit perfectly below the plate and I was able to utilize the load lifter system. I was impressed once again with kifaru and their service. Last time I used this frame I borrowed it from a buddy in SUT during SFQC with a malice ruck on it. We could only use an Alice, malice, or Molle ruck but the frame was up to us. I was able to carry at least 20 lbs over my counter parts thanks to this thing. Awesome product and totally worth it if you need to carry heavy stuff of ackward shape vast distances.

This a well made frame.
What an upgrade
From @hayhunting of Edmonton, Alberta on 9/17/2016.
I am using the Tac 26" frame with composite stays and holy hannah it's an upgrade from my Eberlestock. Definitely wished I had this frame when I packed my muley buck out for 16KM last season. I have the EMR II bag on the frame right now and makes for a deadly combo for comfort and room for gear and meat and horns. Definitely will be adding a smaller weekend/day trip bag to go on this frame. Can't beat the North American products Kifaru brings to the table. I dealt with Aron and Frank on the phone and the customer service was outstanding.
Nothing stabbing you through the pack with this frame!
From Bruce C. of New PLymouth, New Zealand on 9/16/2016.
So glad I upgraded from my old bikini frame. The bikini saved weight but probably was removed because things in your pack would either poke or mold uncomfortably against your back. I decided on the tactical(at a few extra grams) to be sure I wouldn't run into this again and am I one happy man! With a grab it, guide lid, dry bag and a 2,3 extra staps it's a pack in itself really. There's so many options. Best frame..pack I've had
From David Nix of Albuquerque, New Mexico on 8/12/2016.
I didn't mention adjust-ability in this frame in my last review. When I got the frame it did need a little adjusting. The videos Aron, Eric and Patrick have provided on the website made adjusting super easy as did the provided instructions. The reference points (tri-glides and collarbones) as well as the recommended angle of the load lifters in relation to the tops of your shoulders make things super simple to fit perfectly.
Best Frame Ever
From David Nix of Albuquerque, New Mexico on 8/12/2016.
Have had this frame for about a month and have yet to hunt with it. I have used this frame in conjunction with my new EMRII on several training hikes on the La Luz trail here in the Sandias with a 25 pound sandbag, a military MMS sleep system (Green bag, black bag, bivy cover and compression sack) plus a possibles pouch and three liters of water. Not an awkward or overly heavy load (approximately forty pounds)but the frame and EMRII have performed awesomely. Super stable, supportive and most of all comfortable. Can't wait for November. This is a great system (EMRII and Tactical Frame)and while my last pack was good (Horn Hunter Full Curl) the EMRII with Tactical Frame, two medium belt pouches, 2 small belt pouches, and a Nalgene pocket are all in a completely different ballpark. Have used multiple different styles of packs in my life, mountain rucksacks (military), regular alice packs (military), the USMC ILBE and FILBE gear. The EMRII and Tactical Frame setup is also in a completely different league. Well worth the money. Kifaru always is, I have other packs for different purposes that are also perfect. Nothing bad to report. thanks Kifaru.

When my tactical frame came in it fit perfectly. The same day I loaded it up with a 100lb sandbag and was amazed! I did a 2 mile hike, and could not believe how comfortable it was! I have zero complaints about this frame and would highly recommend it to everyone! Awesome job by kifaru👊🏼
From Tj Perez of Phoenix, Arizona on 5/27/2016.
I have the 24" Tactical Frame with composite stays and I have a 26" Hunting Frame with aluminum stays. The tactical is definitely a lot more rigid and doesn't flex as much until heavier loads are on it. There is a great amount of support but still allows you to be mobile and doesn't hinder you by any means! If you want a bomb proof rock solid system punch the ticket on the Tactical Frame and you wont be disappointed! Love both frames and use the Tactical mostly for training due to the rigidity!I cant say anything other than this is an amazing frame that I highly recommend!
The frame others want to be when they grow up.
From Eddie MacIntosh of Edmonton, Alberta on 5/18/2016.
After getting the frame adjusted and set up, and having used it for a few months, I can say that I am totally satisfied. Anyone who needs a sturdy, comfortable, and adjustable external frame should strongly consider this one. This frame can lift more weight than I can carry, and do so comfortably.
Best frame on the market, Highly recommended
From Jeremy Volt of south weber, Utah on 5/10/2016.
This frame is amazing and can handle more weight than I can carry also it is one of a kind as it was made just for me and my shape, I have a flat back and a tiny waist, they make each frame unique to the customers dimensions. I have never had a pack that I could carry all the weight on my waist now I do and it is well worth the money as it will be the last frame I ever need..
From Rick Basagoitia of Monte Vista, Colorado on 2/29/2016.
I have the tactical frame and the Duplex pack. Much like the feelings of what seems the majority of other users, this is an awesome combination for it's ability to handle heavy weight and remain comfortable. Carrying nearly 100 lbs. on your back while riding a bike to get to the workout location is relatively easy because of the fit and control that this pack allows.
From Anonymous of chilliwack, British Columbia on 1/24/2016.
Really impressed with the comfort and construction, very easily adjusted.
From SF Soldier of Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 12/8/2015.
I have used this frame for several months in Afghanistan and absolutely love the feel and ability to carry heavy loads in a short frame. I unconditionally recommend this frame to any serious hunter of people or prey.
From Paul D. of Lena, Wisconsin on 10/11/2015.
I don't have a ton of miles in it yet, but enough to know it is the most comfortable frame I've used yet. I was skeptical it was this good from some of my buddy's, but they're right! Easy setup, super comfortable belt, and the most comfortable shoulder straps I've tried yet. When delivered it was almost perfect right from box. Put about 10 miles on before a few minor adjustments. I don't think it can get any better for comfort!
12/16/2016 – Can the Tactical Platform Frames contoured waist belt be removed if the situation/load carry requires it?I may need to . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Yes, you can remove the waistbelt. There are tabs on the bottom corners of the frame that act as the new connection point for the shoulder straps. Ask for a couple extra k-clip straps to connect to those tabs. If you are planning on wearing it with a belt rig or body armour, I would recommend getting one of the shorter frames. Most military guys don't want the frame sticking up behind their head preventing them from easily looking up. Also, the shorter frame takes up less torso real estate that you will need for that belt. Let us know if you have any other questions!
12/13/2016 – Can the tactical frame be used instead of the frame used with the army's molle ruck or the usmc's filbe pack?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: I've seen a picture with a filbe pack mounted on a Kifaru frame. The pack is a little shorter than most of ours so there was a gap at the bottom of the frame. Below is the link for that pic.https://www.zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=111828Hope this helps!
9/8/2016 – does the tactical frame work well in conjunction with body armor, as in how it sits with the back SAPI plate and the shoulder . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Anthony,Yes, we supply frames and packs quite a few different military divisions and have had no complaints with troops wearing the frames in conjunction with armor.
8/18/2016 – What is the difference in the stays? What is the purpose of each?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Ryan -In short, the purpose the stays is to transfer the weight of the pack from your shoulders and onto your hips. This video from our YouTube channel tells you everything you need to know -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ULmr9yR-Xo
8/5/2016 – Hello, i want to buy this one for a Duplex Timberline 2 .I measure 170cm for 70Kg and 80/84cm of waistand 90 to chest. . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Paul,For your size and also to be used with the DT2 bag, a 24" frame will be best.
6/25/2016 – Does one frame hold more carrying weight than the other between the tactical and hunting?
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi James,Both frames will haul the same amount of weight. Since the tactical frame uses a thicker frame sheet, (1/8" compared to 1/16" of hunting)the tactical frame will offer better support and stability for heavy loads.
6/21/2016 – What size duplex frame would you recommend for my size?I'm 5' 8", 135lbs, 30"-30" pant size.I'm looking to pair a Duplex . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Thomas, For your size, you will want to use a 24" frame.
3/5/2016 – What is the difference between the back profile ? How can I find my back profile ?Thank you !
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Pierre-Olivier,Please watch this you tube video. It will explain the different back profiles and how to find out which you have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ULmr9yR-Xo
2/7/2016 – The Hunting frame and tactical frame both have different HDPE frames. One being 1/8, the other being 1/16. What is the purpose . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Felix,The tactical frame has a stiffer or more rigid frame to provide better support for awkward loads that military members might carry. It also works well for those hauling awkward loads such as tree stands, chain saws, etc.
2/22/2015 – If I am 5'11" and have an 18 inch torso measurement as you would measure for a typical mountaineering backpack what length . . .
Response From Kifaru Intl.: For your height I would recommend the 26" frame.
